Weekend Off

October has been a crazy month when it comes to the weekends, but this weekend...I get a break!
The only things on my agenda include sleeping in, Halloween costume searching with BARS, some painting with Steph and football.
I cant wait!

Remeber last weekend when I rode a bike and a lot of people had a hard time believing it?
Well, here's proof.
I actually did pretty decent (once I learned how to use the pedals).

Bad Hair Day?

So remember that day (today) when I was thinking about what I would look like with a totally different hairstyle?
And remember that day (today) when I decided to go on instyle.com and do a hair makeover?
And remember how I laughed so hard that it might be rude of me not to share the results with you?
So, here you go.

Ok first... ever imagine what I would look like with Reese Witherspoon hair?
Up next, this is what I would look like if Disney cast me to star in HSM4 like Vanessa Hudgens:
I am still contemplating my Halloween costume but if the Sarah Palin thing is still a funny idea, I wold totally work the updo.
Oh! Here's what I would look like if I rocked it out with Jay Z and Kanye with my Rhianna mohawk:

If I were into kissing girls like Katy Perry, it would look a little like Betty Boop.

And lastly (and the funniest) is the uncanny resemblance I have to Kate Gosselin. Ick.

So, who thinks I should make an appointment at the salon?!

Lets Hear it for the Boobs

Sunday afternoon my beautiful, large and growing more every year family celebrated the 11th year of my lovely Auntie Kathleen's ass kicking on breast cancer by participating in the City of Hope Walk for Hope.
This has become an annual tradition and it amazes me every year how many people come out and show support!
It's in an absolutely great feeling to see so many people coming together for one fantastic cause!
Here is a pic of the entire group this year:

Now for the drama on the 5k walk.
It started with 5 friends on a mission.
A mission to kick the crap out of the asphalt and the cancer.

Here we are reveling in our glory and smiling about how impressed we are with each other for getting out of bed so early and having the extra 10 minutes to stop at starbucks and even have taken the time to put on makeup and brush our teeth/hair.
I know, we are that cool!

As the walk progressed, the competitive nature in all of us came out.
This was no longer a leisurely stroll through half a parking lot and half a zoo: this was a full on race!
Raymond already told us he was so fast he wasn't allowed to enter the actual race.
And, since my ankles were free and clear of any extra fabric that would normally slow me down, I was convinced I was equally as fast.
Stephanie was amped up on her iced venti latte,
NE with the extra 15 minutes of sleep she got since she was not driving that morning,
and Kelly insistant that her angles and good lighting will do magic in anything she does.
So, the race was on!

AND IT WAS A PHOTO FINISH:

Next year, I'm totally gonna win!

Glamour October 2009

Recently, I've been totally obsessed with fashion magazines.
I think it's because whenever I've had a really bad day lately, it happens to be that when I check my mailbox there will be one of the many that get delivered to the house... just sitting there waiting for me.
Smiling at me and taunting me at the same time.
Oh the joy on the days that 2 will get delivered on THE SAME DAY!
I bet you're saying "yeah great. but what does this have to do with me?".
(Yes, I imagine you speak without using upper case letters)
Well, the magazines inspired me to do themed blog posts.
I imagine that once a month (more if I feel like it) I will pick one of the magazines and post some of my favorite things from it.
Do with it what you will.
I just thought I would give you some insight as to what I'm drawn to in magazines!
And, its another chance for me to showcase my sweet photoshop skills.

So to start:
GLAMOUR Magazine, October 2009
It's no secret that LL LOVES LEGGINGS!
Guess what?!
SO DOES GLAMOUR!
It's right there, in large print, for NE and everyone else to read and weep!
I love the leopard print with the embellished dress even though I could never pull it off.
And, the Gossip Girl in the sparkley leggings with the plain white tee?
GENIOUS!
Sorry guys, the leggings will be back for LL this fall.

The past few weeks I am certain I have been dreaming of ankle boots.
Like way more than a regular gal should dream about ankle boots.
In fact, today I got a new order from ShoeDazzle.com (that's right. a Kim K plug) for a pair of black suede ankle boots that should arrive sometime next week.
Woot!
But, imagine them in purple with an outfit involving a cardi and look what you get:

I just fainted thinking about myself wearing that outfit!

This was on the back page of the mag and I think its cute because it reminds me of all my great girlfriends!

And lastly,
Stephwana and I recently spent an entire afternoon, that rolled into an evening, which then rolled into drinks and boys, playing a little game called "Would You Rather...?"
Essentially, it's a game where you take two random people and decided who you would rather sleep with.
Like this: WOULD YOU RATHER have sex with Mike Tyson or Shaq.
(You don't have to tell me your answer. I'll leave that up to the imagination)
Well, once the booze and boys were added the game turned into "Do One. Date One. Marry One."
I know I'm quite the trendsetter.
And apparently Stephwana is too.
Because look at this article that was also in the GLAMOUR:
And YES, that does say to MARRY Jay Z. :)

Birthday Bear

This post is dedicated to my favorite little lady who happens to turn 3 today!

Happy Birthday Kara Michelle

This morning I called to wish her a happy birthday and she informed me that she was getting birthday chocolate milk, from Starbucks.
I can't believe how fast time goes by.
It seems like just yesterday I could hold her for hours and she wouldn't even move.
I remind her of this all the time when I try to hold her still long enough for a hug and she wants no part of it.

Love you KarBear!
-Auntie

For You

Apparently my lack of blogging (and that of other ladies that shall remain unmentioned) has not gone unnoticed.

I can explain!

It’s like when you buy a new pair of super cute peep toe heels and you are convinced they are the BEST thing in all of the land and because of this you wear them everyday.
So much so that you buy more outfits to match those shoes so you can wear them even more.
Every time you wear them, you get compliments and you smile and nod in agreement because you know how amazing they are…duh.
But then one day, you notice a girl in a dress you own (the one you bought because they went perfect with the peep toe) sporting a completely different type of shoe than yours AND her combo looks sooo much better.
So then you decide you (and your shoes) are not as awesome as you had originally thought.
And that breaks your heart a little and now you are too bitter to wear them for a while.

Well, that’s how I felt about the blogging.
Blog stalking only led me to be self conscious about my blogging and wit abilities.
I’ll get back to full force sometime soon, but in the meantime: how about some randomness?

First:
Tonight NE and I are going to see this!
My favorite movie in live action real life and musical form.
This is going to be so much better than that time I was ten and saw Beauty & the Beast on Ice!

Here’s a little something I have been completely obsessed with lately:
Even though I have the “dog talk” yearly and eventually am talked out of making the decision to be a mother, the puppy fever is back folks.
This time with a little guy called a “Snorkie”.
Don’t tell me that’s not the cutest face you have ever seen?!

Random sightings:
Besides Jay Z, doesn’t it seem like John Mayer has been everywhere lately?!
I mean, I know he’s always on my tv but besides that.
He’s been on at least a handful of shows on my tivo and filling up my twitter like mad man.
I am in no way complaining!
And since someone didn’t believe me when I said he dated Jessica Simpson, I found this to prove it (plus her hair is super cute in this):

And the last random thing for today is dedicated to Stephwana.
For some reason, she has a strong hate towards Tom Brady that she has yet to fully explain to me.
I can’t understand it actually.
Maybe it has something to do with cockiness to the point of having your own logo but who knows.
Anywho on a weekly Google of Matt, I came across this pic and I think that if the boys can get along, you need to also!

And a side thought: if Matt Leinart has enough time and the commitment to have a dog, my mom's case has got nothing! I can totally have one too.

Pre Season

Well, it's here!
The 2009 football season officially started for me last week...our first home game of the season!
I won't brag about the seats much, but I will say that if you are a Packers fan (like Steph & Scott) you may have been jealous.
Making sure last season wasn't just a fluke, we started this season's festivities almost right where we left off.
Well, not exactly where we left off.
It was 115 degrees outside and a parking lot drinkfest didn't seem like the smartest idea.
So instead, we did this:

And somehow LL was talked into doing this:

That's what the smooth talking charm of an Australian Brad Pitt will get you.

Ironically when I came back to the office from lunch today I had a note from Kurt waiting for me.
I'm sad I missed him, and it appears as though he misses me too. How sweet!
