Before & After

"Before & After" is a special little section on a blog I frequent daily.
This frequency led me to a little project/obsesssion of my own.
Kind of like a "anything you can do, I can do better" situation.

Anywho,
the subjects in this project were as follows:
a) a table my parents purchased for me from a lady in QC fr $40. It used to be my scrapbooking table in the Creativity Room, a non-existent space now and a table full of possibilities.

2) a set of 4 chairs I purchased from Craigslist that were disgusting and dirty but only cost me $40 for the entire set. I love how vintage they look AND they still had the original upholstery sticker on the bottom of them from 11/1979!

most importantly) a plan, a Saturday afternoon, a margarita at Z Tejas, a trip to the Home Depot and Rich.

Followed by) fabric from Joann's, a bottle of wine, a staple gun, Stephanie and Rich.

The results after the all the hard work and the move:

It's ok to be jealous. And, to give me ideas on what to do with that blank tan canvas of a wall. We have 3 white frames to hang but it's still missing something....

OH! And, a little something extra:

With the extra fabric and a box of black frames I found, I copied an idea from some very fabulous "British Sugars" and did this upstairs:

I'm loving the new condo and the projects so much!

Yee Haw

Well, BARS and I had a wonderful 4th of July!
We celebrated it so well, other Americans might have been jealous of how American we were.
It involved snow cones, rodeos, fireworks in the back up pick up trucks, coolers of beer, a bonfire and I'm pretty sure mixed in there somewhere was a hangover and a blurred trip to a bar.
Here's the pictures I took in the moments I actually remembered I had a camera.

Yay America

I know it's a few days early, but since I will be in a city I can only imagine has limited internet availability, I thought I would blog to American early.
(well that and the fact that I don't imagine "drunk blogging" to be one of my strong suits)
America,
HAPPY 233 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE!
I would like to take this time to personally thank you for:
  • my freedom
  • my life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness
  • the abolishment of prohibition
  • women's rights
  • fireworks
  • chicken
  • apple pie & ice cream
  • quarterbacks
  • firemen/policemen
  • and puppies
Of course these are just a few of the many things I appreciate daily in the USofA, but I don't want to bore you.
I know you must have lots more to do to prepare for the big hoorah that is 7/4.
Thank you for your years of hard work.
LL

And What Not..

So moving totally blows but we are pretty much done.
Side Note: I no longer live at TMH. The new call letters are CND. (it's the condo with the parrot outside, so we are easy to find)

A couple other things I thought you should know today:
1) "Sugar Wrecked" signed a new member. It's really just for her looks but, I think she makes a great addition:

B) LL's favorite holiday is this weekend! I've got exciting things planned in celebration of my "2nd birthday that I happen to share with the USA". BARS and I are headed North(ish) to Springerville. Contain your jealousy. We are all set for the rodeo and dance. I'm not sure how well the folks in Springerville will react when I rock the Red/White/Blue Rhinestone Celebration Tiara but I think it will be big hit!

Love/Hate Relationship

With moving day fast approaching, you can imagine my stress level is off the charts (chain).
Between drinking bottles of wine, chain smoking, yelling at friends and essentially "eye ripping your face off" glares at strangers who ordered the last scone at the Seattle Espresso...
I'd say I am handling this all pretty well.

You know what makes it easier?
Knowing that I get to move live with my favorite roommate, Stephanie, again.
I may be losing a Creativity Room (its a fancy word for scrapbooking, bow tying, present wrapping and centerpiece storage room), but I get to keep mornings like this* for a long time to come.

*Stephanie blogged about this morning's happenings on her blog, and since I obviously don't have time to recap: READ HER VERSION HERE.

Here's to another lease of our life together!
Maybe once a week you just come upstairs and we can recreate mornings when we would share a bathroom?
It seems to be where our best conversations happen.
If it helps, I'll continue to play my John Mayer DVD over and over again for ambiance.

Father's Day

So, yesterday was Father's Day...
I have a Father and he is the best.
We hung out at my aunties house and had ourselves a BBQ/pool party in honor of all the padres in my family.
I took my new camera.
I did not take any pictures of my father on his yearly special day. (sorry dad)
I did instead take pictures of my niece.
She is the cutest curly haired, pink life vest wearing thing I have ever seen!

Yes, Please

After a pretty quiet weekend on the party front (I mostly spent quality time with cardboard boxes, dust and a tape gun), I will tell you one thing:
I swear on a bottle of Dogpoint* that if I could ever make a hangover look this good:

I would be drunk everyday.

Drunker everyday.

Either way, Bradley Cooper is a beautiful man.

*Dogpoint AKA Peach Goodness AKA LL's favorite bottle of wine.
